New Orleans is a delta city, and its future depends on the resolution of ecological and economic problems at a regional scale. These dilemmas involve drainage management, land loss, wetlands restoration, and habitat protection for wildlife and fish. Their amelioration demands coordinated administration.

These projects are tied to specific sites, but the strategies they propose could be put into place across southern Louisiana.
